Postgraduate doctoral study programme "Medicinal Chemistry"

TENDERS
for the enrolment into the postgraduate doctoral study programme
"Medicinal Chemistry"

The postgraduate scientific study "Medical Chemistry" is organised in the full-time period of 6 semesters or in 10 semesters as part of work time for persons that have completed corresponding University undergraduate study in the scientific field of biomedicine and health (study programmes: medicine, pharmacy, graduate sanitary engineer, veterinary) and other related fields (study programme-course: biology, ecology, molecular biology, chemistry, biotechnology and similar). Classes are organized in cooperation with the “Ruđer Bošković” Institute, GSK Research Centre and the University of Rijeka Faculty of Medicine.

The number of attendants is determined by the study plan and programme.

Alongside the application, the applicant must enclose the following:
1. résumé
2. certified photocopy of graduation from higher-education institute
3. proof of foreign language competency
4. institution certificate or applicant’s written statement regarding tuition payment
5. grade average of undergraduate studies
6. references from research paper mentor
7. proof of former research activity (photocopies of papers)
8. birth certificate
9. certificate of Croatian citizenship (for Croatian citizens) or certificate of nationality

Tuition for postgraduate study programme amounts to 15.000,00 HRK per year (for 2 semesters), and for part-time working students 8.400,00 HRK.
Foreign citizens, as well as Croatian citizens who have obtained a foreign diploma must, prior to enrolment, carry out the diploma equivalency recognition procedure for the diploma obtained in the foreign country.

Enrolment applications must be submitted by (registered) post or in person to the following mailing address: Sveučilište u Rijeci/University of Rijeka, Odjel za biotehnologiju/Department of Biotechnology, Trg braće Mažuranića 10, 51000 Rijeka (II. kat, soba 3/ 2nd floor, room 3), with the note: „Tender for postgraduate doctoral study programme“.
Deadline for submitting applications is 30 days of publishing in the public organ.
Incomplete and untimely applications will not be taken into consideration.

The applicants who have enclosed a valid application will be subject to the entrance procedure in which the following items will be scored: average grade (maximum 30), the recommendation of the research work mentor (maximum 30), previous research work and publications (maximum 20), as well as testing of motivation in front of a Committee (maximum 20). The applicants, who did not enclose the mentor’s recommendation in the tender procedure, cannot get scored in the entrance procedure, because the mentor’s recommendation is a precondition for the enrolment into study.

There is a possibility of getting a scholarship for the study. The lectures will be held in Rijeka and Zagreb. Two public presentations and a meeting with mentors will be organised in Rijeka and Zagreb during the call procedure, and the date of presentations will be subsequently published on the website of the Department of Biotechnology.
